Sir Barks-a-lot is the leader of a pack of stray dogs who were sent into space on an exploration mission gone wrong. After their shuttle malfunctioned and crashed into the moon, Barks-a-lot took down the US flag that was post in an act of defiance. He then erected his own flag, with a paw-print on it, and claimed the moon as his domain to be ruled over by him and his stray dog army.
Guy Hero would go on to liberate the moon after his first major story arc.
